What we build in Maryland basements
A finished basement is one of the highest ROI projects you can take on. Done right, it adds 600–1,500+ square feet of livable space without the cost of an addition. Done wrong, it traps moisture, fails inspection, or looks like a garage. We build basements the right way — from the framing schedule and vapor barriers to the lighting plan and trim detail.
- Open rec rooms and family rooms
- Full basement bathrooms and powder rooms
- In-law suites and basement apartments
- Home theaters and bars
- Home offices and gyms
- Bedroom suites with egress windows
- Storage rooms, laundry rooms, and mechanical rooms
Code, permits, and inspections
Maryland basement projects involve framing, electrical, plumbing, and egress inspections — sometimes structural, depending on the home. We pull the permits in Baltimore County, Carroll County, or Howard County, coordinate the inspectors, and make sure the project closes out clean.
Waterproofing first — finishing second
If a basement has any history of water, we address it before we frame a single stud. That means proper drainage at the perimeter, sealing where needed, sump-pump verification, and vapor barriers behind framed walls. Skipping this step is the #1 reason finished basements fail; we don't skip it.
